The Ministry of Education of China is responsible for providing Chinese Government Scholarship based on agreements between Chinese government and foreign governments or international organizations. The Ministry of Education of China entrusts China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC) to take charge of admissions and daily affairs management of international students studying in China under Chinese Government Scholarship Programs (hereinafter referred to as the scholarship students).
中国政府奖学金内容 Content of Chinese Government Scholarship
Chinese Government Scholarship includes full scholarship and partial scholarship.
Content of Chinese Government full scholarship:
Exempt from registration fee, tuition fee, fee for laboratory experiment, fee for internship, fee for basic learning materials; and accommodation fee for dormitory on campus;
Providing free medical services equivalent to the treatment Chinese students enjoy;
Providing monthly living allowance and one-off settlement subsidy after registration for new students;
Providing one-off hard-seat train ticket (hard-berth train ticket for overnight trip) from the port of entry upon registration to the city where the admitting institution or Chinese language training institution or preparatory education institution is located; from the Chinese language training institution or the preparatory education institution to the city where the university for major study is located; from the city where the institution is located to the nearest port for departure upon graduation;
International traveling expenses in principle shall be paid by dispatch party, excluding the case of there’s an agreement on international traveling expenses.
Partial scholarship includes one or several terms of the above content.
Scholarship living allowance will be given to scholarship students since the registration day at a certain time monthly. New students will get a full month scholarship living allowance if they register before 15th of the month (including 15th) and half a month scholarship living allowance after 15th. For graduating students, the amount of last scholarship living allowance will be calculated up to half a month later based on the graduation day. For scholarship students who suspend schooling, drop out of school or complete the study, their scholarship living allowance will be suspended or cancelled from next month. Scholarship living allowance will be given as usual during the school holidays; scholarship students who leave school during the school holidays and fail to get scholarships living allowance on time can get it when they come back to school. Those who do not ask for leave, not register on time, leave school or not attend classes for non-health reasons for more than a month, will not get scholarship living allowance of that month.
Scholarship students asking for experiment or practice beyond the school teaching plan, should pay for the expenses by themselves.
Scholarship students who are found diseases beyond entry regulations of China's laws should immediately return to home country, and pay for the travel expenses by themselves.
Scholarship students who get illness during studying in China should go to see a doctor in the school hospital. When necessary, they will be transferred to designated hospital for treatment with introduction of the school hospital. Those expenses for artificial teeth, filling a tooth, tooth extraction, glasses, childbirth, induced abortion, correcting physical defects, purchasing nutrition tonic, other treatment beyond the range and standard of free medical service, and treatment for chronic disease existing before coming to China, will be paid by oneself.
The medical treatment fees and other related expenses caused by fighting and other actions violating the laws and school regulations, will be paid by students themselves.
Scholarship students suffering from serious illness and in need of suspending their schooling should return to home country for treatment and rest; travel expenses will be paid by themselves; Scholarship students suspending their schooling with the permission of school may retain up scholarship qualification for one year, but there is no scholarship living allowance during the suspension. Scholarship students suspending their schooling for other reasons, their scholarship qualifications shall not be reserved.
